The WinAgents EventLog Translation Service is a server that monitors Windows event logs and forwards the events that appear for further processing. The program can forward events to a Syslog server or to an SNMP management station. With the EventLog Translation Service manual checking of event logs is no longer necessary. One can now simply use one’s preferred network management system to analyze event logs.

The EventLog Translation Service works as a background process on your server, periodically polling the event logs. When new events are registered, the program automatically forwards them to the Syslog server or SNMP station.

The Service also equips administrators with additional tools for managing Windows event logs:

  • Fast tracking and forestalling of emergency situations. One can configure the Syslog server to carry out specific actions when events meeting set criteria occur.
  • Log merging. All information regarding events is centrally stored in Syslog journals or in your SNMP-based network management system.
  • Automatic server performance examination. There is no longer a need to examine server performance manually - the EventLog Translation Service does it automatically, saving administrators considerable time.
  • Improved server administration. The EventLog Translation Service forwards events the instant they occur. This is particularly useful for handling emergency situations.
